The Commemorative Air Force recently visited Johnstown, PA and some members of the Johnstown RC Club went up to view the planes and even take rides on some vintage WWII air craft. Some of those planes were FIFI, one of only two flying B-29's, a P-51 fighter, a C-45 Expediter, and a Texan A-6. For additional pictures.....Click Here

The Susquehana Valley Modelers RC Club as you can see from the above three pictures is a very active club. Their flying field is located off of Route 54 on Kaboodle Road. They hold regular fun fly events that are open to the public. The last one had 30 pilots registered that came from many places around the state of Pennsylvania. Their club president is Mike Brown, and contest director Bob "Rocky" Rachua. Thanks to Jeff Black the area AVP for submitting these pictures!
Our newest Associate District III V.P. is Dave Chisholm from western Pennsylvania. Above he poses with his 1/3 scale Tomahawk L-39 Turbine. It weighs in ready to roll at 72 lbs, with a 106 inch wingspan and is 132 inches in length. Dave says it's a dream to fly! We welcome Dave to the leadership team!
One of the highights of the AMA National Model Aviation Day was the first annual "Warbirds over WV" hosted by the Wing Nutz of St. Marys RC Club. Above is a great picture of the assembled P-51 models from that day, plus a local veteran, Charlie Plemens made a surprise visit to the outing, who flew P-51's during WWII. He was a great inspiration to all who attended!
